I use a dual 450 as my main computer. Bought it a week after it came out about 5 years ago and the thing is still up to speed. If you max out the RAM and have panther installed it's faster than you would think. I use a 1GHZ dually at work and the only time I notice any speed difference is on large PS files. Even than we are talking seconds- even at 20 seconds for filters a 5 year old computer still kicking it with all the latest technology is worth the wait.
As I type this I am converting some LP's with CD Doctor, have 4 300DPI images running in PS, Flash is open, and about five other apps are open and everything is clickin just fine.
POINT: the dual450 is a great machine... I wouldn't trade it for the world.
