I don't know why anyone thinks Trump is going to avoid the debates. I'm sure he's a bit nervous, but he's definitely going to be there. He would be crazy to not do them.
1. He's completely addicted to being on TV and in the spotlight. He won't be able to resist it.
2. He loves arguing.
3. He destroyed everyone at the Republican debates, which has bolstered his already overflowing confidence.
4. He's excellent at debating. It's very difficult to debate people who don't admit when they're wrong, or when who get caught in a lie and then just keep talking the same bullshit. He is also amazing at the art of persuasion. (He's convinced much of the country that you don't really need to know what you're doing to be president.)
5. Even if he wanted to skip the debates (which he doesn't) he'd look like a huge coward.
I also think he's probably going to win the debates. (if you consider acting like a total buffoon and somehow convincing the rabble to hoot and holler and eventually vote for you to be "winning".)
Trump supporters will say that Trump won the debates. Hillary supporters will say Hillary destroyed him. Most respectable media will say Hillary won. This is because Hillary can debate on the facts, and even at her worst, she is light years ahead of Trump when it comes to experience and knowing what she's talking about.
This election is all about rational thought (Hillary) vs emotional feeling (Trump). The biggest reason Trump is so popular is because people tend to vote based on their emotions. Sadly, this means that while Hillary will technically "win" the debate, Trump will get the bigger popularity boost from them.
- He will win when facts are not considered.2002
- love your posts.fadein11
- If he backs out, I can see his flock praising him for it, with full disregard that debates are a fundamental necessity to the country they love so much.mg33
- I see what mg33, and I see it more of a when, not an if.monospaced
- also, if he "destroyed" everyone at the republican debates, it wasn't because of anything he debatedmonospaced
- I get what you're saying, mono. But no one can argue that Trump lost the republican debates. He won by making it impossible to debate him.********
- People laughed at George W Bush for his speeches and debates, and everyone was shocked when he consistently "won" debates.********
- I agree that he might have stolen the show in the manner you described, and y not allowing others to speak, and that it was confused as winningmonospaced
- Sadly agree. Only way is for HRC to trigger him and send him off script into an offensive rant. You know they'll try.monkeyshine
- monkey, that is way too easy to do, and I doubt he could recall the scripts for the countless number of issues and complexities he might have to addressmonospaced
- Re: "confused as winning." In the strict sense of debate he didn't win, but he did win overall. Presidents are chosen by an emotional public, not a rational one********
- Thanks @fadein11. I always drink too much coffee and need to burn it off with some typing.... haha********
- keep them coming - I share your views and you put them across eloquently.fadein11
- You know if you like hillery, then you like bush right?yurimon
- only if you're a moronmonospaced
- You can't even spell Hillary, you should probably refrain from talking about her.********
- he's doing it on purposemonospaced
- take off your discrimination glasses. you are racist, sexist, partyistyurimon
- I wonder how long yurimon could go without resorting to calling someone a racist. Like, if he really tried.********
- It's totally irrational.monospaced
- Where he holds the advantage is that the media is relentless against him and completely passive towards Hillary. His attacks will have more impact.IRNlun6
