Here’s what I don't understand, I keep hearing from Trump supporters that Islamic terrorism is the most serious threat facing us. It's an apocalyptic threat with the future of Western civilization hanging in the balance.
OK but if you buy that view of things, what kind of sense does it make to put the former host of The Apprentice, a guy with no national security or political experience at all, in charge of the country?
Trump is no more knowledge on national security and foreign policy than some random guy ranting about politics at the pub down the street. His only "qualification" is that he talks tough, but anyone can do that. Sarah Palin did, so did George Bush. And both had much more experience than Trump.
So yes we are facing an existential threat from radical jihadists...and this is the moment we choose to run an experiment to see if the least qualified person in history can be President without fucking things up completely. Good luck!
If that doesn't give you pause, I have to question the idea that terrorism is viewed as a serious threat in the first place, at least in terms of peoples' direct lives.
- But he knows more about ISIS than anyone. He knows more than all the generals. How? He just does.mg33
- so you prefer to elect the person that gave them weapons, money and security,
