When can police use a drone to kill someone?

Last Thursday night marked the first time that American civilian police have used a robot to kill someone on American soil. Bombs too have only been used to distract killers (like in Orlando) to provide cover for a raid, never to kill a suspect.

If drone assassinations by civilian police are acceptable, where is the line to what kind of technology they may use to do so?

    • I really don't know why they didn't send in a tiger to maul the guy.mg33

    • Use whatever tech you need to keep others from dying—this guy had already hit 12 people—taking him out w/a drone is a great idea—nobody else put in harms wayPonyBoy
    • it begins (terminator)

    • call in the army for sure but your militarised police force is part of the reason this shit happens, don't give them the keys to the fucking daleks...kingsteven
