Damn today was an eye opener.. Went to Auslandebehorde (dept of immigration) to renew visa without an appointment.. Was told as Australia is in the same group as Syria, Pakistan and pretty much every other middle eastern country currently seeking asylum. I was informed I need to camp out over night and try for one of the 200 tickets that are given away at 4am in the morning from the tents outside. Alternatively I can make an appointment for 6 months time. After that we went to the burgeramt and it had about 300 people cueing waiting for tickets.. Mostly all waiting for Berlin pass.. Shit is crazy
Anyway, if u are an Australian in Berlin and you have a visa expiring sometime soon, get on it super super early.. It's bonkers
