So I bought an imac about 14 months ago. The middle range one. It was not fucking cheap. Its been updated and everything. Cant anyone explain to me why this fucking piece of shit is slower than my damn iphone?

I feel like an battered wife that cant leave her abusive husband. Apple makes garbage products, but I keep buying them because Im so used to it.

    • oh, and inb4 cunty apple apologists. their computers are hot garbage.CygnusZero4
    • Slower than your "damn iphone" at what, exactly?monospaced
    • at EVERYTHING. its slow as a fucking turd at even just simple shit like using safari or chrome with nothing else running.CygnusZero4

    • good, then you can end your 8 year cycle of buying apple products for the sole purpose of failing at using them and complaining on qbn :)monospaced
    • lolz failing at using. $1500, it should work well. apple apologists! company is fucking trash since steve died.CygnusZero4
    • Sorry yours doesn't work well, but all the ones we use work perfectly fine. So many of your issues seem unique to you. Sorry.monospaced
    • The cool thing is you can probably sell that "junky" 14 month old mac for 75-80% of what you paid for it. Used Macs are the most overvalued of all tech.nb
    • ^ I know what you mean, mine was tricked out with an SSD and extra ram yet still felt woolly and sluggish, Photoshop ran like mud even with small files.face_melter
    • And that was after a couple of wipes/installs and even using nvidia's beta gfx drivers rather than Apple's stock update drivers.face_melter
    • every iMac I have used has been superb, yes a little hot and older one's hard drives die etc... but just standard computer issues. One machine I would continuefadein11

    • have you checked activity monitor? maybe some app is bogging you down. clean install with only the essentials is a good test, then add apps one at a timeakiersky
    • also how much disk space do you have? the 10% free rule still applies in my experienceakiersky
    • ^ 10% free is not enough. especially is you're dealing with large files or videoGnash
    • Apple products are seriously overpriced quickly deteriorating pieces of shit.srhadden
    • What did you expect from Apple? Their cheap shit is made in China by children slaves!utopian
    • Definitely unusual. Could be logic board failure, which should be warranty repair. Or you have 3rd party crapware mucking something up.evilpeacock
    • Sounds like bad maintenance. El Capitan also caused performance issues. Lol utopian. Always the first to throw nonsense pooHayoth
    • utopian just fancies himself a professional apple h8r™ at times :)monospaced
    • i havent seen utop share what he likes. im curious what he likes now.yurimon

    • Macs are as susceptible as PCs to malware from 'dodgy' sites these days, aren't they? ...detritus
