This si so basic but god damn it, LEARN HOW TO NAME YOUR FILES PROPERLY FFS!!!
01526 clientname-banner-300x250 v4.psd
VS
01526_ClientName_Banner_300x250...
The second one is easier to read and find when you have a shitload of files in the same folder.

- dude, this should be ..._clientName_banne...uan
- dunno whats wrong with - i use that all the time and I name files like that:
Source/ClientName_Ba...
Or Product/ if its a jpg or ready html******** - fuck truncate
ClientName-Stuff-Siz...******** - lol @uan and @sted, you know it's easier to read when you use underscore vs dashes....no?Maaku
- :SADF "ClientName- Stuff- Size- DateTime"********
- _ is better, because when you doubleclick on it, the whole things gets selected, while with - only the strings between the - get selected.uan
- it's easy to misread _ as space********
- not on win :) double click selects the entire string single just the stuff between the separator...********
- Hmmm, I was taught that underscores were faster to recognize, maybe I'm wrong but for me it makes it easier to read long names.Maaku
- can be, i think it's more about which you're used to... how does a proper project folder looks like? (i use Materia/Source/Produ... structure)********
- Folder structures are the same for every project, at least that keeps it "organized" somehow. It's just hard to make everyone use the same convention for namingMaaku
- for naming files.Maaku
- If you're using caps/camel case hyphen or underscore doesn't matter, the eye is trained to recognize caps as word-start too.i_monk
- ^ WordMaaku
- Underscore sucks because of that double click select shit.monospaced
- but I still use them because SOMEONE on the team JUST like you told the boss we all had to follow her naming convention... Fuuuuuumonospaced
