I have a Satellite 2435 in the shop right now. It was over heating and shutting off. I found out it uses a regular desktop P4 instead of the P4-M (mobile).
Yours appears to use a Pentium 4-C. I'm not sure what chip that is, but in my research I have heard of many Satellites overheating and shutting off. I would read some reviews and check google forums for people's problems with that specific model.
