The prado's worth a look - go in the smaller bottom entrance and not the top, that way you see evrything chronological. Whip round it as the going's pretty heavy and dont miss goya and bosch. Also worth checking out is the Thyssen gallery 5 mins walk away, a previously private collection that's rammed full of everything from medieval stuff to monets to pop art. Also definately check out the Reina Sofia, modern art and changing exhibitions, great building. Go to the Retiro park, like freak said the fuencarral street is good if you like kids flopping about with mullets, and flip flops in winter, so trendy it huuuurts. Def. eat a 'chuleton' steak in a restaurant from the basque country, you CANNOT get meat like that in england, and head to lavapies, the best barrio in town.
