LOLZ @ the guy who wanted me to shoot photos for his band's show last night but didn't want to do it because he thought the venue wasn't that appealing for "good" photos, who then posted 70, SEVENTY shitty cell phone photos of the show to Facebook, 2/3 of which are nearly identical to at least another photo in the set. I seriously don't get how people can't look at a photo set and think "this one looks just like this one. and this one. and this one. Maybe I should choose ONE of them." I would have given him 15 photos that were the best, with each showing a different moment that was distinguishable from the other photos. Of his 70 photos, he could have narrowed down to eight.
- I'm not even saying this just to vent. I seriously have no idea how people can be so unaware of narrowing down a set of photos to the best ones.mg33
- did you quote him a $ price?Ramanisky2
- Don't even get me started on the photos that are truly shit and look like a digital watercolor painting because someone thinks digital zoom should ever be usedmg33
- Ram - yeah. I came up with a pricing structure that would have been $180 for an hour of shooting, and 15 limited use licensed photos.mg33
- He was cool with that completely, but then thought the venue wasn't appealing enough. I even had photos to show him from that venue I'd shot that looked good.mg33
- I've taken great band shots in shitty venues that turned out great with stage lighting and a crowdmonospaced
- Same here. Same venue as his show:
http://www.mg33.com/…mg33 - I really need to start doing a weekly blog post with advice to novice photographers on this sort of stuff. I'd rather turn an annoyance into a positive thing.mg33
- he probably got wasted. high and drunk and dumb********
- Def sucks. But, maybe he was just using the venue as an excuse because he didn't want to pay for photography but also didn't want to admit to being a cheapo.********
- now I have to see his pics ....
c'mon post the link :)Ramanisky2 - nb - he hired a video service to record the show. he's not cheap with money, I just think he doesn't know any better. well, maybe he spent too much on video...mg33
- Yeah, and no excuse for posting 70 photos of anything.********
- I wish I could share them but don't want to cross that line. Just imagine clicking through 6 portrait photos of a dude at a microphone.mg33
- I'll give him a C for effort, he didn't want to hurt your feelings by telling you he doesn't need you for pictures because Instagram.Maaku
