met up with this guy this weekend who was a close friend in college. he was always more ambitious and a harder worker than me, I'll admit. I always have gotten by with a level of success that was "enough," rather than busting my ass... I've never cared much for money or to be thought of as successful, but somehow always done pretty well anyway.
anyway, now he's working this super-high-powered job with a big renewable energy company, and I'm totally jealous. i'm wondering how I can step up my game and find my own version of success. perhaps I've always been too much of a slacker...

- Are you happy with yourself and your life? Keep in mind, doing what he's doing could make you unhappy... because clearly thats not you. just a thought.sofakingback
- great point sofaking. i think that is probably why this gets me, because I haven't been very happy with my work lately. i'm working on that...sarahfailin
- Its a tricky thing. I've been in a similar place for a bit now. I've been trying to figure myself out a bit and seeing what is the right pivot for my needs...sofakingback
- But above all, being mindful that my needs are not that of others. What makes another man happy does not make me happy. what makes him successful might..sofakingback
- make me miserable. At least if I follow my path I won't feel shitty about the decision if I end up unhappy with it. Know what I mean?sofakingback
- yeah-- it's funny cause until recently it was never in my personality to compare myself to others, or at least not to feel inferior. i just need to recentersarahfailin
