my big brother rather dropped the ball on getting things organized...not out of any bad feelings...think he just really had no idea what to do....
but on the day of, I ran over to our local bar (a great place, and a big hangout for media and advertising etc) and since they knew me, they gave us the upstairs bar for the evening, no charge, plus a waitress of our own (a friend of mine) and basically helped set everything up...i owe them a huge debt of thanks for that...they saved the day.... after that, my bro was on top of getting in contact with the whole gang...and it ended up being a huge success...great party... tons of people...we all headed out to the strippers later that night....and at 3 or 4 am we were at some all night dance bar...just a few of us left by then....
I ducked out to the side alley for a smoke, and this big bruiser decides he wants to fight me...no idea why...i was just standing there not talking to anyone....
out of no where, my big brother is in his face 'ok...lets calm down now....no need for fighting'....
this guy tries to move around my bro to get at me, when out of nowhere, the rest of my party shows up on all sides.. just standing there grinning...like 'ok pal...the night is young...you wanna throw down?'....
dude say's something like '...you got good friends...you're lucky'...and wanders off...we finish our drinks, and walk home ....
by the time we got to our place, we were basically sober.... it had been a long, long evening...
and one of the best nights of my life....just the right amount of chaos, the perfect amount of great buddies...lots of booze...lots of fun....
damn...that was back in 1999....it's been a loooong time....

- my guess is that your wife-to-be would understand you didn't get to do it properly before hand.. no reason not to throw another party a few months later...exador1
- everyone has kind of said that, maybe they will, but i think quite a bit of money has been spent on this already!cruddlebub
