I actually enjoyed the episode. I really like the mood the show is setting now. Much better than previous seasons.
That said, the ending, the single moment that for me and probably many marked the crescendo of the entire graphic novel thus far was so poorly done. I kept saying in my head during Negans drawn out speech, "this should be on HBO, this should be on HBO". The absence of the foul mouth and the lack of swing-by-swing commentary by the charismatic villain and the lucky one mumbling their last words while their eye's begin bulging out of their skull.... ugh... I hate violence, but man if you're gonna do the scene, do the scene!
I really wish they'd found someone better to play Negan too. His timing gave me time to think and felt rehearsed. He barely filled in his pants too. I mean, couldn't they have found a burlier man to swing the soon-to-be-famous baseball bat. Some barrel-chested, square-jawed neanderthal who heaved thunderous laughter from their chest while they beat their victims to a bloody pulp?
Here, how about this guy. He doesn't need acting experience, he just need to shave, grow out a little hair, slick it back, say a bunch of bad words and make fun of people who stutter because of how hard he just cracked their skull.
- I hate that his clothes looked brand new; JDM looked like he was heading to a friend's party DRESSED as Negan.DerekDrama
