Is there an Elon Musk thread on QBN? Can't find one. I found the Tesla and Space X ones... but not a dedicated one to Elon Musk himself. Should I start one? He deserves his own thread. The guys is one of the most important humans of our lifetime.
- *guyKrassy
- please no. he's a very successful crony.********
- If we can have a Health, Dentist & Floss thread I say why not?********
- @deathboy please explainKrassy
- in short it's because he has focused on sectors that largely operate off public subsidies. But orazal is right why not. There are dick cheney ones too.********
- He's focusing on projects that affect the general public. Are the public subsidies a driving force behind his projects, or is it the other way around?Krassy
- Are you questioning his motives? Regardless of his contributions? Not sure I follow.Krassy
- i would give him credit if he actually produced a cost effective, better alt to something. but so far its just exp subs products for rich ppl to feel good about********
- motives and products********
- I think its money first. Think he understand that we have been taught that anything green = good regardless of end results. And he's using that successfully.********
- And the government has created a nice 40 billion dollar market for solar alone. Why not take a piece and say u have good intentions of bettering the world********
- why i prefer to focus on end results and not good intentions********
- Interesting perspective. Thanks for elaborating.Krassy
- Lol at important person. How is he important, he is a playboy making toys for other playboys. Who's life has he impacted positively********
- It's "whose" not "who's"
I'm sure Elon Musk knows the difference, although that's not the part that makes him important.Krassy - Yes yes, autocorrect got me, aren't you smart. Would you flex your intellect some more for me and answer the question********
- NP Krassy. thanks for being civil. im from reno so a lot of the gov policies directly effect me. some interesting stuff going on with solar subs and nvenergy********
- @deathboy I love hearing an honest and educated opinion, especially coming from someone who's directly affected by policy making. Thank YOU!Krassy
- As a matter of fact, the reason why I was looking to post about Elon Musk is what's happening...Krassy
- ...in Sparks, Nevada - right next door to Reno: http://www.techinsid…Krassy
- ah nice. yea there is a lot more of local economic factors that usually get disregarded in the aspirational largeness of the project.********
- like the national news usually doesn't mention that the project hasn't met any econ projections. and scope already changing a little bit to use it for data********
- or how the jobs it created go to out of state workers in hotels. or how the "tesla effect" has help increase rent prices. and even talks of adding a state tax.********
- personally i think sandoval is monument building for his own prestige. The future is goign to suck with these obligations. We cant pay goldman back on the bonds********
- for lowering the rails underground. it is all well intended but i think tis gonna backfire********
- @deathboy Interesting. Thanks again for the insight from that locals perspective!Krassy
- Yup, good stuff, I learned something new********
