I got left this watch from my Grandad who passed away a few years ago now.

Recently got round to getting a few links taken out the strap to fit me.

A few local jewellers were going to charge £20 to do this but ended up refusing as it was a "prestige" watch.

Ended up taking it to a high end watch shop in town that sells watches that are the same price as some homes!

The guy behind the desk when I handed him the watch was like

    "WOW!"
"That's the second one of these watches I've ever seen - nice watch!"

(Damn nice compliments to get from someone working with such high end watches every day)

So he takes the watch away for 5 minutes and returns with it and lets me try it on to check the size.
    Size is perfect.

I ask him how much it cost to have the links taken out. He refuses to take any money for it and says it was a pleasure to have seen and worked on the watch.

For the watch geeks, after a bit of detective work online I found out that it's a Omega Chronostop Geneve - 920 Movement - Circa 1970.

Haven't worn a watch for years and years but quite enjoying wearing this - for both it's sentimental value and also because it feels good. With it's blue face it's really eye catching but the watch itself is quite subtle.

    • Nice. My dad gave me his '67 Omega Sea Master when I graduated High School.fooler
