    "a whole nother"

    • written down it looks retarded, i speak like this though, it's common in north eastern accents to add a consonant to the start of a word that begins with a vowe
      ********
    • vowel sound if the previous word ends with a vowel sound as well, i.e. vaniller ice cream or vanilla rice cream however you would decide to phoneticize that
      ********
    • I thought this was just people thinking another means a nother instead of an other. Then in turn going to whole nother instead of whole other.monospaced
    • I understand some of the accent and adding the r to certain words but it doesn't always precede a word with a vowel. Whole nother always sounds stupid to me.monospaced
    • And for the record I'm not riding your ass or whatever you said earlier.monospaced
    • That may be true but my mom understanding is that hat its the same notion as when 'an' is used, it has to with breaking up vowel sounds
      ********
    • * - mom
      ********
    • * - hat
      ********
    • The chaglrhe is nut riding, if you are an ass rider that's a seperate conversation
      ********
    • Hah wtf, *charge
      ********
    • To me it sounds as though the word 'another' just isn't 'other' enough. So it becomes a-whole-nother. Abso-fucking-lutely!MrT
    • Lol
      ********
    • lol. I actually really like this idiom. it's pretty unique for the reasons stated.sarahfailin
