Sooooooooo excited to get a couple of these boards today. Why? I have a few ideas about building out an SP1200 styled, teensy-powered sampling drum machine. Using the fairly new audio library for these boards, you can build out complex beat boxes with sequencing, effects, routing, bu bu BITCRUSHING...

Imagine a diy kit that looked like an SP but had minimal components and the ability to perform in similar ways to the classic drum machines.

This guy has my attention for sure, he is already off to the races with his similar idea, inspiring.

    • And that's not all! You can build out your complex audio sketches with an online tool. Wat!? http://www.pjrc.com/…prophetone
    • nice!scarabin
    • show us your progress!scarabin
    • I will! I have an SP12 and have a dream to pull measurements on the case, make a wood plug, use for vacuum forming plastic clonesprophetone
    • like in funky colors like fluoro pink, red, white etc... then screen a one color SP overlay onto it easy peasy, with rev'd artprophetone
    • so end result, a teensy-powered SP1200 for like $150 in components. i have yet to mess with the bit crushing and low passingprophetone
    • if i get traction with this project i will no doubt hear non stop about how this is stupid b/c will never be a real SP sound yadda yaddaprophetone
    • not really the point though... but i will do what i can to get that crunchy 12 bit sound, but with an open source... and cheap! coooo!prophetone
    • I'm excited b/c have been looking at arduino mega + multiplexing etc but this seems to be the easier ticket b/c powerfulprophetone
