Right. This rat bastard ship has set sail with no turning back. Following the unexpected successful construction of the PC earlier this weekend, it was now time to turn this expensive box of electronics into an expensive box of electronics that I can use to view acts of utmost human filth. And occasionally Photoshop and Cinema 4D.
I was forced to wake early Sunday morning as I had booked my laundry for 7am, which seemed like a good idea at the time but in hindsight was an incredible lapse in judgement. Operating on less than four hours sleep I nonetheless gathered my senses and pants and set the operation into motion. Wash then dry. Greater men have attempted simpler plans and failed.
Windows 10 was chosen to be my weapon of choice - new hardware demanded new software. The path was thus: use a VM on the iMac to create a bootable USB installer - because physical media is purely the domain of madmen and degenerates. I changed the bios settings and clicked ‘save and reboot’, my weariness replaced with a new vigour and excitement as the screen blinked and was replaced with the Windows logo. YES! I was now 2-and-0, surely my luck was about to fail - the gods hate a winner - the human condition is geared to failure. NO! The clock ticked by and with each passing screen it was obvious that this would be another success - a triumph of man over technology. Even online activation couldn’t defeat me. This was a middle-fingered salute to the powers that be, those who said it couldn’t be done.
And as soon as it began, the fantastic journey was over - my socks and t-shirts were rinsed and ready to be dried.
