My brother introduced me to David Bowie's music when I was 8 or 9 years old with the amazing Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps) album - Ashes to Ashes is still one of my favorite tracks. A couple years later I purchased Let's Dance (my very first LP) and as I've grown older, my appreciation of his music has too. Few artists have been able to transcend style and genres like he has.
Should you have the opportunity, I highly recommend watching the BBC documentary "David Bowie: 5 Years."
