  i thought it was a pretty solid slow burn, gorgeous in 70mm and a nice departure from tarantino's last few, which are admittedly much more innovative films but to repeat their tempo in this atmosphere would have been a mistake.

  his sweeping, long cut shots of the mountain passes and the time it takes to get to and from places is as much a nod to the hat of time lapse as cinema can afford, and the old west had plenty of time to lapse, which makes the spontaneous acts of violence and building tension even more astute.
