fadein11 I understand your disappointment though I wouldn't rate it as low as you, probably 7/10, I loved the first third.
Then I left the theater not caring to see it again, but I now think I would enjoy it much more today, being free of expectations and knowing the story, and I'll most certainly go back this weekend.Could someone have done a better job than JJ ? Who knows, these are impossible shoes to fill. If someone handed me the keys to make a new Star Wars film I would say "no thanks", like Spielberg, Zemeckis and Coppola did for the prequels.
Is the universe perfectly re transcribed in this one ? I think so. Could the story have been more interesting ? For sure. But as someone who was born in the early 70s I think the only SW film I wouldn't be disappointed at would be an unreleased one shot in 1985.
- Yep - fair comments. It just didn't have enough originality for me. We all knew it was going to be a homage but just too close to EpIV...fadein11
- I will give it some time and watch again when not so late and not so tired. But I have a feeling I will feel the same unfort.fadein11
- I completely agree, what I liked about the first third of the film is that JJ was not being precious with it.spl33nidoru
