  United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 99 miles west-southwest of Makurazaki, Japan; 102 miles west-southwest of Kaseda, Japan; 108 miles west-southwest of Kushikino, Japan; 112 miles west-southwest of Ijuin, Japan; and 470 miles south-southeast of seoul, South Korea
