Regarding Kylo Ren, from what I understand he's not actual Sith, just a Sith worshipper of sorts. The real badass of the new franchise, or at least episode VII is meant to be this guy:
Supreme Leader Snoke. Maybe linked the the Emperor in some way? Who knows.
