You are forgetting that the Force was much stronger in Anakin/Vader than in any other recorded Jedi. That and the fact that he turned from Jedi to Sith would be enough for future baddies to use him as a figurehead or an example of what to aspire to (assuming that Vader's final moments were lost to time).
Also remember that trailers are edited versions of the movie, meaning that Vader's helmet and Kylo's words may not even be connected. Those shots certainly don't look like they are in the same space (unless they're keeping Vader's helmet on the dashboard of a Destroyer like a bobble-head Jesus)- For all we know Luke is keeping the burned Helmet.ETM
