    my argument about georges post is that it's GOOD for men and women to talk openly about what they want and don't want, and it's even more important for teens who are more likely to go along with something they're really not comfortable with, or to push their partner into something they're not ready for-- even if there's not the kind of violent intent that a rapist has.

    I'm not a woman (newsflash), but for MANY women their first sexual experiences (not necessarily intercourse, but touching, etc.) were under pressure from a young man who was acting perhaps too agressively. It's not rape, but it's not complete consent either.

    It's admittedly to garner or give consent when you're a crazy hormonal teenager who has urges but also fears and lots of conflicting feelings. Teaching affirmative consent encourages partners to look for the other to be really ready, and not pushing them beyond what they're honestly desiring and prepared for.
