Just put my son to bed and made a cocktail i picked up in Nashville.. They call it a Oaxacin On Broken Glass. Mezcal, cynar & ginger syrup, shaken in a rocks glass over an oversized ice cube.
To the whiskey conversation up top, i think its just an acquired taste. Literally hated whiskey until i tried Japanese liquids from the Suntory / Yamazaki portfolio. Opened my mind to what whiskey SHOULD taste like and I've been hooked ever since. Like everything, it depends on what your experience with it is. I bet a lot of people's first interatcion with tequila is some god-awful entry level José Cuervo trash. There's some great tequila out there.
Also realized that I've not really drank beer since christmas, can't stomach all that volume! I guess having a kid has made me drink less in quantity but MUCH more in quality!
