    She wasn't jailed for denying licenses. She wasn't jailed for religious beliefs. She was jailed for Contempt of Court.

    This woman had the law explained to her, and given more opportunity to deal with this than anyone should expect from the legal system.

    It was her right to appeal to the Supreme Court, and they denied her appeal.

    Religious freedom does not include choosing which laws you will obey. The defence "But, God says that..." won't hold up in court in any respectable country. And let's hope it never does.
