To me i care about colour more than resolution. I don't do video... I think that's the only instance that matter?
T-bolt display has 16.7 million colours and roughly 70 - 81% Adobe RGB.

Dell UltraSharp 24 Ultra HD Monitor - UP2414Q
    1.07 Billion colors
    Adobe RGB 99%, sRGB 100%

Depends on what you care about i guess.
I like to have extra colours...

    • Well... dell's got 4k and more colour... and cheaper...pango
    • Apple's got simpler cable management... and glass screen....pango
    • Yeah. Had one at work. Glass is a bitch.Peter
    • That UP2414 only got 3.3 stars at Amazon. Ok, Amazon, but still...Peter
    • Not sure what kind of performance I get with a 2011 macbook connected through the displayport. It just seems I get a little smoother workflow with the bolt. OrPeter
    • ...I might just be blinded by that apple.Peter
    • Dell -> minidisplayport. Would work. But can this old piece of junk I have play with that resolution all smoothlike?Peter
    • I don't know about UP2414Q. I have U2413 24" Monitor with PremierColor. Absolutely love it.pango
    • :\ I work with graphics and photos that doesn't move much... i don't really pay attention to the smoothness.pango
    • Mini display, Display port 1.2, HDMIpango
    • I have 2011 MBP as well. I just don't know about the smoothness...pango
