    he did NYT.com, best (and often also first) newspaper site that made good stuff with webtechnology.

    and nyt.com was and is still a refence to newspaper online design.
    like the apple.com for tech brands / shop sites.

    it's one of those sites you look at when designing something, because they are the ones that invented things, user experiences that feel right.
