on a sidenote: is anyone here actually in the business of making graphic design movie props (like fake newspapers, logos for non-exsistent companies etc.)? I recently heard of a friend of a friend who does this kind of work for german television – but she’s miserable and wants to change careers. I always thought this would be a fun job...

    • My better half's mom's best friend distresses clothing and props for movies. Gets a dozen of a prop and makes it progressively more and more fucked up. She hasgilgamush
    • Fun with itgilgamush
    • my best bud builds props for a living. he loves it. he's making armor for battle of the planet of the apes or something right nowscarabin

    • I've done a few bits and bobs for film and tv, including a fake ad for a movie. As an outsider, it's fun. In the industry though? long hours, tight schedules ..detritus
    • ..and there's a quite a reputation within a lot of circles of being overworked whilst underpaid and undervalued. This is UK though, we don't have unions like ..detritus
    • .. the film industry in the States. Not with such a stranglehold, anyway.detritus
