I just have to share this. I always want to play youtube songs on my iphone inthe background, or whilst locked, or whilst using other apps. I could never get this to work, until now....
Close, force quit your youtube APP, click the home button twice and swipe it up if its running.
Use SAFARI and open up youtube.com let your video start to play, press pause.
Now minimise safari and swipe up the main menu for the iphone from the bottom of the phone, press play. Voila!
Youtube now plays audio in the background ;)
