Went to "desine" school with someone (who I'm still friends with) in 2000; he never got into design professionally after graduating.

He'd been working for a huge credit card co. since 1998, til this day, he loves his job, he's never stressed out, and clocks out @ 5P, it pays the bills. Has a house for 14 years with his partner in NJ and promotes night life for a party in Manhattan that he puts on weekly. So so amazed at the community that he has created around his party.

On the side he is an avid photographer and designs flyers every now and again for his club and others.

He is 37, his pension and 401k is going to be amazing. Happy for him.

Know of folks who went a different route? Have you gone a different route?

Sure this thread was created before, just something I've been writing on lately (other career paths)

    • Design: the slog.studderine
    • He already had a job while in school and just went to school for fun?

    • So many people try so hard to get something out of their degree, but there's probably some fun, easier jobs out there that will make us happier.
