o0o just tried that & to no effect.. the idiot checks were
making sure cables were fitted properly;
plugging in headphones in case it's the speakers;
err and checking the driver stats by right-clicking the harddrive etc...
i might be missing something glaringly obvious but I really don't know.. anyone?
