    Hello there QBNs.

    Daughter was born Thursday 4/30.

It was an absolute ordeal but looks like tomorrow we will be going home.

She was 2 days late from her due date, and my wife notices she our girl was not moving much so we went to her doctor and then 30 minutes later we rushed to the hospital for an emergency c-section.

The cord had wrapped around her neck 4 times and the had a meconium stool in utero.

Things seemed somewhat ok after the birth, but a few hours later the had breathing issues and gluecose issues. Then they noticed she had started having lots of seizures and was admitted to the NICU. For the 1st 2 days we were a wreck as the doctors worked tirelessly to find out what was causing the seizures and to get her stabilized. They did an MRI, EEG, EKG, Echo-cadiogram, something comparable to a spinal tap, and a few other tests. All the tests came back positive, but the EEG confirmed the seizures.

2-3 days ago they found the right seizure medication and it has completely stopped the seizures and she has made a 180 and the doctors believe she will be ready to go home tomorrow with us. (we need to keep her on the seizure medication for about 30 days). They are somewhat confident her brain has not been badly affected but we need to keep monitoring it.

Here's a picture of our girl. She seems so normal and is feeding well and very responsive.

And, they said they have never seen hair like this on a newborn.
