I used to not watch it but now watch it regularly with my life. I identify with his sense of beaten-down-by-the-world-ness in some ways.

But I have a huge question that will either help my watching this show: He's a comedian named "Louie" on the show. Is he playing himself, the real Louis CK, or is he a fictitious comedian who just happens to be named Louis?

I got really confused in the recent episode where he was asked on the spot to host a comedy open mic, and the crowd didn't really react like I'd expect them to if it was really Louis CK hosting it. It was a popular comedy club; people would know who he was. I'd expect a lot more applause and cheering, which is what I think the real Louis CK would garner in that situation.

Is this like Jerry Seinfeld being Jerry Seinfeld on the show, but not necessarily living the same lifestyle as he did in real life? HELP.

Oh, and how's this for coincidence at this moment? As I wrote the first instance of "Louis" above, the radio show I'm listening to started talking about the song Louie Louie. Weird.

    • he is playing a fictional version of himself.
He is also less famous on the show than in real life

    • OK, cool, thanks. That makes sense. I just never totally knew because there seems like there's some crossover.mg33
    • loosely based on his life. the whole thing is loose. for example his wife goes from white to black simply because he liked the actress morefourth
