So I got excited that the e-ink was animated and color, but I must have misheard. e-paper is apparently a general term for low-power displays these days and not exactly the e-ink that is in Kindle.
The Pebble uses an LCD that is low-power and probably why it kills the competition in battery life. I found this that I think is information on the display. http://www.sharpmemorylcd.com/re…
I still believe that the display tech is going to be a huge area in wearable tech, especially watches right now. Being able to use a tech that isn't a huge battery drain is going to be a big deal, and here's where I feel Pebble is in the lead. It's old-school looking, but it's new. I still feel that this area of low-power displays will be developed big time until it is higher res and so on.
- I'd love to have a colored kindle with e-ink. Either way, the pebble team and ceo looks very impressive.pinkfloyd
