What do you do if a client wants you to charge with a cap by project instead of hourly?

I decided to charge them by hr, because so much is ambiguous at this point and they don't have many of the deliverables ready (vague scope). They want to know the timeframe, but it'll be like shooting in the dark at this point.

    • 1) Just figure out what you can provide them for their budget. 2) As you get closer to that cap just let them know.mrpt
    • 3) Once you hit that cap, don’t continue working until they can get more of a budget to reengage with you.mrpt
    • 4) You have to make this all clear though so there is no ambiguity.mrpt
    • (You're TDF right? Just do your best to estimate man.)mrpt
    • Give them options. A) Simple brand deliverables B) Brand deliverables and Collateral C) Comprehensive brand guidelines, marketing collateral and digital assetsNaygon
    • Each step has a lockstep of hours of level of effort/time required. You can set the expectations early on without running the risk of over deliveringNaygon
