Not sure why people are so skeptical of phones surviving, they're small robust light chunks of metal/glass. in a crash they'd be flung from the plane from the shockwave alone. If a plane seat (
, flammable etc) can survive a crash it makes perfect sense that a small cage of metal housing memory the size of a thumbnail could make it out. The entire phone doesn't need to be usable only the storage medium.
- To be fair MH17 was shot out of the sky, this one flew into a mountain at 400mph. Though it's possible a phone could survive, it's not comparable..set
