What's the end game here? for the most part the US is waiting to see if this'll sort itself out, ISIS is doing their best to provoke them and draw them in but so far no dice. But why? what does ISIS have to gain by drawing in the Americans? We've already seen that they can't handle a ragtag group of semi-regulars in the Kurdish fighters, what hope do they have against a full on military assault?
Are the Americans setting all this up? do they want nothing less than a scorched earth total inhalation of ISIS? was this the gameplan all along?
is it going to take another 9-11? is it going to take a bunch of Americans burning in a cage? I think Afganistan and Iraq had many sympathizers world wide, not many countries supported the US in the invasion of these countries but the way things have played out so far, and the way ISIS is being painted (either by their own propaganda or the west's) I think the Americans could drop a nuclear bomb on them and nobody would blink.
