  I feel like a big part of being a successful freelance SEO consultant is undermining the confidence of the in-house staff and convincing the boss that they don't know what they're talking about. If the in-house staff makes a statement about SEO, you must quickly denounce them, no matter what it is they said. You need to act confident and imply that they are doing everything wrong.
