I didn't go solo nearly as long as you...only a year or so....but I loved every minute of it...although you do get used to the 'feast or famine' aspect of billing....
this was back around 2003-2004....
after a brief year of doing that, my old manager started another company and asked me to come in as his Creative Director....and i haven't looked back since....it IS nice to get that stable paycheck..especially if you have a family, mortgage etc....
