Since that article tribler has added this banner to their site:
"Do not put yourself in danger. Our anonymity is not yet mature.
Tribler does not protect you against spooks and government agencies. We are a torrent client and aim to protect you against lawyer-based attacks and censorship. With help from many volunteers we are continuously evolving and improving."
I gave it a go over the weekend and it's like being in the 90s again. If you turn anonymity to maximum you sacrifice speed. The in-built search engine is also of questionable value, and be prepared to store hundreds of MBs of .torrent files on your computer since you're now a node in the network.
