    We didn't go right from film cameras to smartphones with cameras. There were digital cameras with screens for many years before phones had cameras. But I get what you're saying.

    But yeah, it used to be a lot different. Those of us in our 30s or older are lucky to have know life before technology really took over for so many activities. I envy the vacations my stepdad has told me he took with his family in the 60s where they'd set out for two months in the summer to drive across the country in their station wagon, pulling a camper. And to think of the logistics that went into that - planning their stays at state and national parks, relying on printed maps and strangers to help guide them on their way. I wish I'd known that type of vacation.
