The homepage is a "featured photographer", any random photographer from the site that has a high enough rating.
Try looking around a little, there are some awesome photographers. Browse by whatever subject you're interested in, or if you want to see what different cameras or film or filters can do, browse by those. Or look at the hightest rated...
