I don't understand how companies can come to market and expect to compete against the iPhone and Galaxy (or HTC) at the same prices (Fire was/is $200 + contract). That's just stupid.
Offer a comparable quality, great design for less and you'll get customers. For how brilliant Amazon is, you think someone would say that.
I just looked at one today, can't say I did more than pick it up, unless it "feels" like something great or unique, why bother?
(Microsoft should have done that too, especially with the Surface line, they'd have a good following now - great product, but ain't cheap, breaking into these markets can destroy a company, even HTC and Samsung are screwing things up along the way)
