I'm not an advocate of Brand but I'm not a hater. He is certainly a clever guy but he is a bit prone to using archaic bohemian language as a way to broadcast that he isn't thick. That said it still takes balls at least to have some form of crucially flawed ideology...flawed? yes. A bit naive. Yes...but still (to me) preferable to the shite mediocrity of celebrity that is 99% of our exposure...reality TV, shit baking programs...whatever...John Lydon's response also was great. Very incisive and deconstructing (from a man who says he never believed in anarchy even when he sang about it, and who also talks of age being a great educator). I'd rather have Russell Brands flawed but passionate pursuit than be without it personally. It's only actually a few weeks since a whole nation (Scotland) nearly succumbed to setting about on a new manifesto of independence based on ridiculously flimsy evidence of any assurance of success...but the world almost jumped on it with Spartacus-like fervour based on ignorance of fact (or worse alluded that those facts were a conspiracy).

    • Brand at least elicited a great response from a figure of supposed 'anarchy' in Lydon.babaganush
