fast food = hungry again an hour later because it's nutritionally blank.

grains and fresh produce bought with the same amount of money will keep you full all day and provide more than one meal.

obviously the price of certain foods varies by region and availability, but for the most part i think people eat like shit because they don't know how to do otherwise.

we're rewarded from birth with toys and crap for eating mcdonalds, then grow up watching commercials that make you believe eating a hamburger will make you attractive to girls washing cars and that you can have a rewarding family moment huddled around the latest shitty burger in whatever hamburger hovel. that eating fast food is normal and acceptable on a daily basis.

the FDA is corrupt and teaches us we need to eat 11 servings of bread a day and 6 servings of cancer-causing dairy because its board members have financial interests in these areas.

90% of information available to people about eating right is utter bullshit contrived by an entire industry of weight loss and health supplement scams. people trying to sell books 'n' shit.

    it's sad.

i lived most of my life eating total rubbish. i'm only now changing my relationship with food and giving it the respect it deserves.

i shop almost exclusively at farmer's markets and only visit stores if i need something staples like grains or whatever. spend the same amount of money i did before living on TV dinners
