the lighting is soft, and from the top and side, there is a bit of "rembrandt" style lighting on these images often, it's designed to highlight jawlines, cheekbones,etc... Bollywood movie posters seem to be made from well-lit photographs.
so just "photoshopping' a random image shot in bright sunlight may not give you the same effect.
