    We had 2 referendum for independence in Quebec :

    In 1995
    Yes - 2,308,360 = 49.42%
    No- 2,362,648 = 50.58%

    In 1980
    Yes - 1,485,852 = 40.44%
    No - 2,187,991 = 59.56%

    Both times, fear of the unknown has made people vote NO... People who wanted to vote YES initially. And the NO campaign were campaign of fear, it worked.

    I really hope Scotland will not go the same path as us.
