Use Ninite for getting your basic apps up and running.
Text editor -> Sublime
Spotlight + Alfred -> SearchEverything + Launchy
Sketch -> Macaw (but not as good)I use a Mac at work and Windows at home. If it weren't for Mac running Rails and general dev tools better I would really not care which OS I used.
Provided I can alt+space+type the letter of the app I want to open, and alt+tab to switch apps, then the OS doesn't matter to me.
Sublime, Balsamiq, Photoshop, Illustrator, SmartGit, Chrome, Slack/HipChat and Skype all work the same for me in both.
